The experience
What is Private Wellness?
A private, appointment-based recovery room in Newmarket. You book a time, receive arrival instructions, and get the room to yourself for one uninterrupted session.
How long is a session?
A standard booking provides up to 80 minutes in the private room. The room guide helps you choose a comfortable sequence without requiring you to use every modality.
Is it really private and self-serve?
Yes. The format is one private room with simple controls and no guest overlap. Arrival and access information is sent after your booking is confirmed.
Do I have to follow one exact protocol?
No. A simple suggested flow is available, but you should use only the equipment that feels appropriate for you and skip anything that is contraindicated.
What’s included
What equipment is in the room?
Dry sauna, red light therapy, a PEMF mat, leg compression boots, an inversion table, rebounder, grounding mats, clean air filtration, and high-quality audio. Private access and a turnover buffer are included too.
Do I need to use every modality?
No. More is not automatically better. Choose a few tools, keep intensity comfortable, and leave enough time to cool down and hydrate.
What does the sauna “detoxification” claim mean?
Sauna creates heat exposure and sweating and can be part of a personal detoxification ritual. It is not a medical detox treatment. Your liver, kidneys, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract perform most detoxification, and sauna should never replace care for a suspected toxic exposure. See the careful evidence summary on our Science + Benefits page.
What are the inversion table and rebounder for?
The inversion table provides short, angle-controlled gravity traction. The rebounder offers optional low-impact rhythmic movement. Both require gradual use and have safety considerations; review the room instructions and contraindications first.
Where can I read the science?
Our Science + Benefits page summarizes the research for every modality, links directly to studies, and explains where evidence is strong, mixed, or preliminary.
Booking + pricing
Can I book one session?
Yes. New local customers can start with a one-time $49 introductory visit. The regular private session is $69, with memberships and session packs available for repeat visits. See the full Pricing page.
How do I choose a time?
Select your offer and continue through the booking flow. Available dates and times are shown before secure checkout.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please review the current cancellation and rescheduling terms before checkout. You can also email support@privatewellness.ca for help with an existing booking.
Are all modalities included in the price?
Yes. There are no equipment upgrades or modality add-on charges within your booked session.
Safety + contraindications
Who should speak with a doctor before booking?
Anyone who is pregnant or may be pregnant; has cardiovascular, blood-pressure, neurological, eye-pressure, vascular, heat-tolerance, or balance concerns; uses an implanted electronic device; takes medication affected by heat or dehydration; or is unsure whether a modality is appropriate.
Can I use the room while pregnant?
Do not use the sauna, PEMF, compression boots, inversion table, or rebounder during pregnancy without explicit clearance from your healthcare professional. Our booking waiver requires you to review relevant contraindications.
Can I use the room after drinking alcohol or using recreational drugs?
No. Heat and inversion can affect hydration, balance, heart rate, and blood pressure. Arrive sober, hydrated, and feeling well.
What should I do if I feel dizzy, nauseated, or unwell?
Stop immediately, return to a safe upright position, cool down, hydrate if appropriate, and leave the room. Call 911 for a medical emergency. Never push through warning symptoms.
Where is the complete safety guidance?
Read the full Contraindications page before booking. It covers sauna, red light, PEMF, compression, inversion, rebounder, and general room safety.
Arrival + privacy
Where is the studio?
Private Wellness serves Newmarket, Ontario. Exact arrival and access details are sent with confirmed bookings.
What should I bring?
Bring water and anything you need to feel comfortable before and after sweating. Arrive ready to change, move gently, and cool down before leaving.
Will I overlap with another guest?
The experience is designed around private access and a turnover buffer between bookings, so guests do not share the room during a session.
How is the room cleaned between appointments?
Used linens are removed, sauna benches and touchpoints are wiped, compression boots and controls are sanitized, floors and chair surfaces are cleaned, supplies are replaced, and the room is inspected and reset. See the complete visit on the How It Works page.
How is my personal information handled?
Booking information is used to operate your reservation, payment, communications, and required safety process. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
